Taping and Jointing

At SOS Decorators we offer a taping and jointing service to all drywall systems. We are able to work to tight deadline whilst maintaining a smooth and even finish to your surfaces, eliminating the need for plastering.
What is taping and jointing?
Taping and jointing involves covering and reinforcing the seams between sheets of plasterboard on a wall or ceiling. This method is used to prepare a wall for decoration and is an alternative to skim coating.
In the process of taping and jointing, joint tape is used to bridge the gaps between sheets of plasterboard.
The tape is embedded in jointing compound, to strengthen the plasterboard joints and prevent cracks appearing later.
A couple of additional layers of jointing compound are then applied with a knife or trowel to create a seamless finish ready for painting or wallpapering.
